Nike Strengthens Accountability and Team Trust
“We had incredibly talented people, but we weren’t working as a team. Every decision felt like a battle.”
A global Nike team of 50 struggled with low trust, unclear expectations, and fragmented collaboration. Leadership dynamics made it difficult to establish accountability, and direct feedback was avoided. Additionally, conflicts between the design and sourcing teams—driven by competing priorities—created bottlenecks and reactive decision-making. Further complicating matters, legacy employees and newer team members from different Nike divisions brought varying cultural norms, causing friction and inefficiencies.
Nike’s leadership needed to foster trust, improve communication, and create a culture of accountability to drive high performance. The design and sourcing teams, in particular, needed alignment on their goals to eliminate bottlenecks.
Through a six-month 1:1 coaching engagement with the team leader, workshops, and targeted team coaching with core departments, we:
Deepened trust and encouraged open communication across the team.
Equipped leaders with practical tools to navigate power dynamics with confidence.
Facilitated alignment between design and sourcing teams, helping them establish clearer workflows and decision-making structures.
Helped bridge cultural gaps between legacy and new employees, creating a more cohesive, efficient team
Results

“This coaching didn’t just change how I lead—it changed how our team operates. We communicate with more trust, more clarity, and more accountability than ever before.”
