Kibi Anderson’s Bio


Kibi Anderson is a CEO, Emmy Award winning film/TV producer and Certified Executive Coach with over 18 years of experience in strategy, business development, media, entertainment, tech, finance and entrepreneurship. Working in executive roles at Red Table Talk (President), Bloomberg Media (Head of Digital Strategy & Business Development), ABC News (Senior Manager, Business Strategy and Operations), and Broadway Federal Bank (VP/ Business Development Manager) she’s become recognized for her ability to mix comprehensive industry insight, entrepreneurial acumen, and strategic communications skills to build digital businesses and brands globally. She is the founder of Life Editor, a boutique executive coaching firm and CEO of Wordsmyth, a tech platform where companies can discover, source and hire Black + Diverse freelance writers.

Kibi is also an Emmy-Award winning Independent Film producer, and has produced a variety of short and long-form content under her independent production company banner Key Bee Entertainment. Having spent several years living in East Asia and Southeast Asia, Kibi developed a unique, first-hand perspective on how to tell culturally specific stories that resonate with a broader audience.

This passion culminated in her Emmy-Award winning production of “The Mighty Warriors Of Comedy”, a feature film documentary about an Asian comedy troupe that aired nationally on PBS. Some of her other past production credits include, Universal Remote, a sketch comedy feature film; Animal Story, a short film; Hatest Grits, a live sketch comedy concert; and Cuba Libre, a film shot in the Dominican Republic She is a current board member of the NYU Alumni Association and the Black TV Film Collective. She is an advisory board member of Calm Clarity and Peace Over Violence. She is a former board member of the Liberty Hill Foundation, the Greater Los Angeles African American Chamber of Commerce (GLAAAC) Education Fund & Foundation, and Harvardwood, where she served as a founding board member for ten years. She is a former advisory board member of the City of Los Angeles Mayor’s Office of Economic and Business Policy Small Business Advisory Council.

As a speaker, Kibi has given keynotes and led talks all across the US, including Columbia University, NYU, UCONN, and cities from Los Angeles and New York to Greenville, Mississippi and Seattle, Washington. Her widely successful “Find Your Tribe, Build Your Success” and various Female Empowerment topics have become widely sought after both nationally and internationally.

Born in Seattle, Washington, Kibi Anderson was featured in Fortune Magazine in 2000 as a top talent to watch in the coming years. She received her MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business and is a Cum Laude graduate of Harvard University, where she earned a BA degree in East Asian Studies. She currently lives in Los Angeles Ca with her partner, Dennis Dortch and 3 bonus children.
